Child Advocates is a youth social services organization that mobilizes court-appointed volunteers to break the cycle of child abuse and speak up for abused children who are lost in the system. KRJ supports its mission and the annual fundraising events hosted by Child Advocates.
The University of Houston was founded in 1927 and is the largest public research university in Houston and the third largest university in Texas. The University of Houston is the alma mater of several KRJ employees. This year, KRJ announced a $310,000 pledge towards Cougar Pride student scholarships and the extension of the TDECU Stadium Suite Additions. Go Coogs!
KRJ supports the mission of Texas youth and education through its generous support of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. In 2023, KRJ purchased livestock raised by a local high school student at the HLSR Junior Market Lamb and Goat Auction. Funds raised at the auction further support the mission of Texas youth and education.
KRJ is committed to those in need, especially during the holiday season. In 2022, KRJ hosted its third annual toy drive benefiting All Saints Catholic Church and the Women and Family Development Center at Star of Hope.
Founded in 1982, Houston Food Bank is America’s largest food bank and helps to end hunger by providing meals to those in need in 18 southwest Texas counties. KRJ hosts an annual food drive benefiting the Food Bank to distribute healthy food to thousands of individuals.
